Hi!
Welcome to Zirndorf, Bavaria. I think you are one of the American
soldiers we had been proud to have in our little town. Maybe,
I introduce myself: I am Richard, the webmaster of this site.
I am working for the administration of Zirndorf and this website
is a part of my job, and it's a part I love!
I
would like to offer you a website which is interesting for you
especially if you were living here for a while. Please give me
a message what you like to see on this site about Zirndorf. Pictures
of Pinder (the area still exists but it changed a lot), pictures of the Brauhaus? Are you interested
in visiting Zirndorf and you are looking
for accomodation? Maybe you have pictures from your time living
here I could publish on my server. I confess: I do not have a
lot of pictures from the life inside, so only you can provide
this to me.
Is there a funny story you would like to tell? If so, send it to me and a picture
of you with it! The ones I like most get a postcard from Zirndorf, painted by
the famous Zirndorf-based painter Mr. Lumm.
Whatever! I would love to hear from you and I try to do my
very best to make your next visit here more enjoyable...
Your webmaster of Zirndorf,

Richard Lippmann
A few links for you in the meantime:
- Playmobil Funpark in Zirndorf, you know
the figures from the playground!
There is something I got written from a visitor:
My wife, daughter and I like Zirndorf; it is a very pretty
place. The main reason for coming was to visit the Funpark. It
was well worth the effort! We stayed at Gasthof an der Brücke
(take a look at http://www.zirndorf.de/hotel)
; a very nice place with very fine food. It was by accident
that it turned out to be within convenient walking distance of
the Funpark.
My suggestion to you for this web site; include directions on
how to get to Zirndorf from the Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof. The
visitor's office at the station did their best and finally we
caught the bus-train to Fürth and then to Zirndorf. You
see, from the various maps and such, there still is not a good
idea if the distance is too far for a taxi or whatever. I think
that a taxi would have cost too much.
If you like to stay for more than a day and have your host here
for visits in Zirndorf, Nuernberg and the environment it's good
to choose a hotel from where you can walk to the train station
which is in the middle of the town (at Zirndorf Bahnhof = Zirndorf station,
this is Akzent-Hotel Rangau,
Gasthof-Pension "Bub", Hotel-Pension Knorz in http://www.zirndorf.de/hotel)
or only one station farer (at Zirndorf Achterplatzchen, this is Kneippkurhotel
and Gasthof WilhelmTell also mentioned in http://www.zirndorf.de/hotel). Ask for larger rooms for your whole family if
you like, and maybe you could get a special price when staying
for some days in a row.
The train rides about every 20 minutes to Fuerth/Nuernberg and
you can travel also by bus to Nuernberg (not so convenient).
